• Anne C. Zimmerman, CPA, Managing Partner

    As Anne worked toward her CPA designation, she also earned the prestigious Elijah Watt Sells Award for scoring one of the highest in the country on the CPA exam. She has degrees in both business management and accounting and is a member of most accounting professional organizations. She has worked with local accountants, on her own, and now with her partners, acting as the offsite CFO for many businesses. Over the years she has given presentations to professional groups on topics such as budgeting and cash flow, trained students in financial literacy, and spent a fair amount of time advocating for small businesses in the nonprofit and political arena. She volunteers her time to many charitable and civic organizations, sits on (or has in the past) many boards, commissions, and advisory boards. She and most of her large family live in Anderson Township.

    Emily J. Burkart, Accounting Partner

    Emily has been with the Zimmerman and Co since 1998, during which she has earned her accounting degree from Northern Kentucky University in 2005 and has gained an immense amount of experience over the years. Emily started out as a clerical and bookkeeping staff member and has truly learned things on the go, becoming a skilled and insightful accountant experienced in financial statement and corporate and individual tax preparation. She acts as an offsite controller for many businesses and prides herself on clients understanding their statements and giving management pertinent accounting information for their business to be successful. Emily resides in Union, Kentucky with her husband and two young daughters and is very active in their school community.

    Maria C. Nosse, CPA, Tax Partner

    Maria was excited to join Zimmerman & Co CPAs in June 2013, expanding the firm to a second office in Cleveland. She received her Bachelor and Master’s in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati in 2004 and 2005, respectively. After graduation, Maria returned to Cleveland and became a Certified Public Accountant. Experienced in financial statement and corporate and individual tax preparation, Maria specializes in corporate and individual tax planning. It’s her goal that each client receives personalized advice and feels confident with their tax plan. She is highly involved in her Cleveland community, is especially proud of helping create the Near West Recreation League, and spends her time outside the office coaching youth sports & traveling.

    Megan Cook, CPA, Tax Manager

    Megan has been a CPA for 20+ years.  She received her undergraduate degree from Baldwin Wallace College and is a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs as well as the AICPA.  Megan focuses on federal, state and local tax preparation and tax-related issues for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individuals.  Prior to joining Zimmerman and Co, Megan worked for several years at Grant Thornton US, and then most recently at a Cleveland-based law firm that focused on assisting multimillion-dollar clients grow their business while preserving cash and their net worth through business and tax planning.  During her free time, she enjoys watching her children’s sporting events, traveling and tackling minor home improvement projects.

    Matt Lehmann, Senior Accountant

    Matt joined the Zimmerman & Co team in July 2018 after working at another local public accounting firm for 5 years. He attended Ohio University where he studied Accounting and Economics, earning his undergraduate degree in 2013. Matt has experience with corporate and personal tax preparation, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and tax projections. He enjoys working with small businesses and strives to provide his clients with top notch accounting services. He has lived in the Cleveland area his entire life and is an avid supporter of local businesses in his community.

    Barb Salyers, Bookkeeper

    Barb  has been with Zimmerman and Co. CPAs since December of 2002. She is primarily a bookkeeper, charged with maintaining and reconciling client’s books, paying bills, entering receivables, and payroll. Barb handles whatever bookkeeping needs our clients have. She enjoys working with our clients directly and developing fantastic rapport with everybody. While her original college degree was in education and special education, she left that field after 10 years to stay home to raise her three children, returning to work as a bookkeeper after they were all in school. She is a native Cincinnatian, as is her husband, and is involved in many activities within her church and community. As a family, they have traveled all around the United States, exposing their children to many of our country’s wonders and incredible history. Barb’s family has now grown to include a granddaughter, who has brought great joy to all!

    Jen Miller, Bookkeeper

    Jen was excited to come back to Zimmerman & Co. CPAs as a Bookkeeper in September 2021. During her time away, she worked in law firm billing and real estate. Jen is glad to be back working with some of our non-profit clients and new businesses. She loves her community on the east side of Cincinnati – it’s where she works and plays. Most of her free time is spent with her husband and 3 growing kids. When she has a moment to herself, she enjoys exploring nature and a good book.

    Sam Lawson, Bookkeeper

    Sam joined Zimmerman and Co. CPAs in September of 2024 as a bookkeeper and works out of the Cincinnati office.

    Jessica Merugu, Bookkeeper

    Jessica is a bookkeeper in our Cleveland office.

    Steve Kachmyers, Practice Administrator

    Steve joined Zimmerman and Co CPAs in February 2018. Steve helps with client administration, access to our cloud and client portal, and our website. Steve is a lifelong resident of Cleveland’s West Side, where he currently lives with his wife and three children.
